The Packers begin preparations today for their next opponent, the Oakland Raiders, on Sunday at Lambeau Field. It’s a short week after the 23-22 Monday night win over the Lions. Players will review the Detroit game this morning and later have a walk through. The Raiders are coming into the game off their bye week and are 3-2, while the Packers are 5-1. Coach Matt LaFleur said Tuesday he was proud of the win and said it showed his team’s resiliency.
In the NLCS Tuesday night, the Washington Nationals advance to their first-ever World Series with a 7-4 victory over the Cardinals and a four-game sweep of their series. The Nationals scored seven runs in the first inning before the Cardinals scored a run in the fourth and three in the sixth to narrow the gap. St. Louis loaded the bases with two outs in the 8th inning but were unable to score. Pat Corbin gave four runs on four hits for the Nationals in five innings but picked up his first post-season win. Trea Turner and Yan Gomes drove in two runs each for the Nationals. Washington plays the winner of the ALCS between the Yankees and the Astros. Game four is tonight in New York. The Astros lead 2-1.
The Bucks pre-season continues Thursday night as the Bucks host the Minnesota Timberwolves at Firserv Forum. The Bucks are off to a 4-0 start while the Timberwolves are 2-2.
