Ripon Common Council Meeting Preview
Although bond conditions have changed for a Green Lake woman facing misdemeanor charges in Green Lake County court Ripon Police Chief Bill Wallner is still recommending the Ripon Common Council deny her a liquor operating license. In a letter to the Council Wallner says the charges Olivia Garnett Griseta faces substantially relate to the circumstances of the licensed activity, which would be at Ripon Shell. Bond conditions had previously prohibited her from handling or possessing alcoholic beverages. Griseta’s license request was denied by the Common Council at their October 8th meeting. She will appeal that this evening. Also tonight the Council will discuss the possibility of a wheel tax and transportation utility as a way to raise fees to generate additional revenue that could be used to balance the city’s budget. The Council meets at 7 pm at the Ripon City Hall.

Berlin Police Chief Making A Few Changes
Berlin’s new police chief says their officers are committed to the job and passionate about what they are doing. But that doesn’t mean there won’t be a few changes now that J.D. Lind is chief. He says he’s had one-on-one meetings with each of the officers asking them about what is going great and what concerns they might have. One thing he would like to accomplish is solidifying their mission, vision and values. “I have been asking would you be open as a group, as an agency really trying to solidify what is our mission, what do we believe our vision is, and what are our values.” One small change he did make was to turn over his office to three sergeants so they would have more work space and he took a smaller office. Lind retired as Superintendent of the State Patrol in October of 2018 after nearly 25 years with the State Patrol.
