It may take a day or two before Fond du Lac County’s Communications and Emergency Management Department gets a better assessment on the damage caused by heavy rains this week. Director Bobbi Hicken says there was definitely flooding throughout the county. She says in Fond du Lac the river came up over its banks and South Street was particularly hard hit. The high school football field, Fruth Field, ended up underwater. She says Waupun was hit pretty hard too with flooding from the Rock River. Waupun Fire Chief B.J. DeMaa, who doubles as the City’s Emergency Management Director, was out all Tuesday night with crews helping to mitigate as much damage as they could. Hicken points out they will need waters to recede more and a sunny day to get a better look at the damage.
