Law Enforcement Urge Residents To Lock Vehicle And Garage Doors

Law enforcement agencies are reminding residents to lock the doors to their vehicles and garage doors to their homes to prevent thefts of property and vehicles. Winnebago County Sheriff’s officials shared a video on Facebook from Cottage Grove Police that showed about 8 people running up a street at night and some getting out of two vehicles to try doors. The individuals involved would steal items from vehicles or the vehicles themselves and use the garage door openers in them to enter the garage to look for other property and vehicles. At least one vehicle they arrived in was later crashed and abandoned. Markesan Police also carried a warning on their site and police in Beaver Dam have reported similar thefts.
