House Fire In Waupun Displaces One Person

Fire damaged the basement of a home at 117 Bly Street in Waupun early Thursday morning. Firefighters responded to the home owned by Kevin Long shortly after 12:30 am. Flames were coming out of basement window in the two-story home. Crews knocked the fire down in about 30 minutes. No one was injured, but two dogs were taken to a veterinary clinic for observation. One person was displaced by the blaze. Fire Chief B.J. DeMaa says there is significant fire and smoke damage to the basement and smoke damage to the other floors of the home. The cause of the fire is being determined, but is not considered suspicious.
