21 September 2019 News

Two Fond du Lac men are facing citations and charges for a high speed chase in the city early Saturday morning. Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s officials say shortly before 2:30 am a deputy observed a vehicle that was involved in a pursuit with another law enforcement agency. The vehicle was still speeding when the deputy tried to stop it on Scott Street at Peters Avenue. It continued to speed at up to 87 miles an hour and finally came to a stop on Pioneer Road at Melody Lane. The driver, a 19-year-old Fond du Lac man, and passenger, a 20-year-old Fond du Lac man, were both cited. The driver was cited for operating while under the influence, operating with a suspended driver license, suspended registration, failing to stop at a stop sign, and is being held on eluding charges. The passenger was cited for underage drinking and was released.  The pursuit lasted just over 3 miles. North Fond du Lac Police and the State Patrol assisted the Sheriff’s Department.
