Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s officials have identified a driver that led them on a 29 mile chase that reached speeds up to 107 miles an hour Friday night. It started on Interstate 41 near County Highway F when the driver made an unsafe lane deviation and the registered owner of the vehicle came back as having a suspended license. He was stopped, but a deputy was checking on his identification because he had given three different names. That’s when the driver took off at a high rate of speed. Deputies pursued the vehicle south on I-41 to State Highway 49 and then continued north on I-41 to State Highway 26. The pursuit was cut off on I-41northbound at Highway 26 when the deputy obtained the correct registration matching the vehicle and had visual identification of the operator on the initial traffic stop. Possible charges that will be referred against the man once he’s in custody include obstruction, felony eluding, and reckless driving.
