Governor Tony Evers was in Beaver Dam Thursday to give an update on a massive industrial park just north of the city. The Alliant Energy Beaver Dam Commerce Park totals 520 acres and is geared toward big or expanding companies seeking large-scale sites. During a press event Evers announced that the commerce park is the latest Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation Certified in Wisconsin Project. “I congratulate the City of Beaver Dam, the mayor and others in the Beaver Dam area for making this happen. This is the 22nd Certified in Wisconsin Project in the State of Wisconsin so good news for contributors to this project.” Evers says the designation plays a key role in helping communities attract new companies by providing an independent certification that a wide range of concerns have been evaluated. Beaver Dam Mayor Becky Glewen thanked Alliant Energy for realizing the potential the area brings for new businesses. Alliant Energy Community Director Robert Crain says they will be re-doubling their efforts to market the state’s newest certified-site to prospective businesses.
