Four ThedaCare Hospitals Gain Level IV Trauma Facility Status

Four ThedaCare hospitals have recently been certified as Level IV trauma facilities. ThedaCare Medical Centers in Berlin, New London, Shawano, and Wild Rose received the designation by the state of Wisconsin. ThedaCare Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer Mark Thompson says, “Rural hospitals with trauma experience like Berlin, New London, Shawano and Wild Rose allow teams to stabilize and care for the patient, and if necessary, transfer that person to a higher level trauma center.” He added ThedaCare is committed to improving the health of the communities they serve. Participation in the trauma level classification system is voluntary.
