Fire Destroys Waupun Mobile Home

17 August 2019 News

Waupun firefighters responded to a mobile home fire at 916 South Madison Street shortly before five Friday afternoon.  Upon arrival, flames were visible coming from the west side of the trailer. The fire was knocked down within 20 minutes, but crews remained on scene for two hours working on overhaul. Gloria Martin was the owner of the single story, side-by-side mobile home. There was significant smoke and fire damage and the mobile home is considered a total loss. One person was displaced by the blaze. A person who was in the home prior to the fire was taken to Waupun Memorial Hospital with unknown injuries. No firefighters were hurt during the blaze. Fire Chief B.J. DeMaa says the cause of the fire is considered suspicious and it is still under investigation. Agencies assisting at the scene included fire departments from Alto and Brandon/Fairwater, the Waupun Police Department, the Dodge County Sheriff’s Department, Lifestar Ambulance, Waupun Utilities, and Alliant Energy.
