Ripon, WI- The Ripon Public Library is pleased to offer a summer of free events! Upcoming features, not to be missed include:

Thursday, July 18| 6:30 A.M. | Lit and Fit: A Walking Book Club

Talk about what you’ve read lately and get new book suggestions during a morning walk with other readers. Meet in the library parking lot.

Saturday, July 20 | 9a.m. – 1 P.M. | First LEGO League: Worlds Collide!

SHOWCASE  9 –11 A.M.  Area teams present their 2019 projects based on the national organization’s challenge—Into Orbit: identify a human physical or social problem faced during long duration space exploration within our Sun’s solar system and propose a solution.  The Lego Multiverse Team 1665 advanced to state level with their exploration and problem solving around the emotional wellbeing of astronauts in space. Meet “Cog” the cat/dog emotional support astro-pet!

BREAKOUT SESSIONS 11:30 A.M.-1 P.M. What do robots do? Area teams offer exploration stations guiding participants to discovery on a variety of topics and robot examples.

Monday, July 22 | 2 P.M. | Monday Matinee (PG-13) | 130 minutes

Tuesday, July 23 | 6 P.M. | Books N’ Brew

Find out what other readers are enjoying over a cup of coffee at Mugs Coffeehouse at this adults-only event. Readers share their excitement over current and favorite must-read titles! Library staff will be on hand to offer reader’s advisory to get you hooked on your next favorite book/podcast/movie! For ages 16+.

Wednesday, July 24 | 5:30 P.M. | Casual Role-Playing Games Featuring Honey Heist!

Explore a new one-shot RPG adventure with pre-made characters on the 4th Wednesday of each month at the library at 5:30 P.M.! This month’s featured game is Honey Heist, where participants role-play as criminal bears ready for their next heist!  Newcomers and experienced gamers are invited to join the fun. Drop-ins are welcome.

Wednesday, July 24 | 6:30 P.M. | Starry Night Pajama Time!

Children’s Librarian, Linda DeCramer, and educator/artist, Carissa Sorensen, team up to offer an evening of fun for families with children of all ages. Enjoy spectacular music, interactives, art, and the best books featuring the night sky. PJs welcome for a smooth transition into bedtime.

Thursday, July 25 | 6:30 A.M. & 9 A.M. | Lit and Fit: A Walking Book Club

Talk about what you’ve read lately and get new book suggestions during a morning walk with other readers. Two schedule options offered:  Thursday mornings at 6:30 A.M. and the fourth Thursday of the month at both 6:30 & 9 A.M. Meet in the library parking lot.
