Bryan Reynolds hit a three-run home run in the seventh inning to lift the Pirates over the Milwaukee Brewers 6-5 Sunday in their final game before the All-Star break.  Reynolds’ estimated 403-foot shot cleared the seats beyond the fence in right-center field and bounced toward the Allegheny River. His seventh homer of the season came after Kevin Kramer walked and Adam Frazier singled off reliever Junior Guerra (3-2).  Reynolds also hit an RBI double in the fifth and is batting .342 with a .950 OPS.  The Pirates closed the first half by winning back-to-back series against Milwaukee and the Chicago Cubs to close to 2 1/2 games back in the NL Central and 44-45 overall.  Brewers star Christian Yelich did not play and pulled out of Monday’s All-Star Home Run Derby with a back injury. He said he plans to play in the All-Star Game on Tuesday.  Jesús Aguilar hit a two-run drive in the seventh off Pirates starter Joe Musgrove that tied the game at 3. It was his second home run of the game and eighth of season. He also hit a solo shot to left off Musgrove in the fifth.  Francisco Liriano relieved Musgrove and finished the seventh to improve to 3-1. Felipe Vázquez worked a four-out save, his 20th of the season.  Milwaukee rookie Keston Hiura hit a two-run homer in the eighth, also his seventh of the season.  Brewers starter Chase Anderson allowed two runs on five hits over four innings. He struck out four and walked two.  Orlando Arcia pinch hit in the fifth inning after a scary collision with Hiura on Saturday.

Elsewhere in the N.L. Central on Sunday, the White Sox beat the Cubs 3-1, the Indians pounded the Reds 11-1 and the Giants edged the Cardinals 1-0.  The Cubs still lead the Brewers by a half-game in the division.  The Cardinals are 2 games back, the Pirates 2.5 and the Reds are 4.5 games behind.

In other Brewers news, infield prospect Mauricio Dubon, recalled as insurance for Arcia, made his MLB debut as a pinch hitter in the eighth. Dubon is the first big leaguer born and raised in Honduras. He faced Vázquez in an eight-pitch battle and fouled off five straight before grounding out to first base. Also right-handed pitcher  Burch Smith was optioned to Triple-A to make room for Dubon.

The United States has won the Women’s World Cup for the fourth time after beating the Netherlands 2-0 on Sunday night.  Forward Megan Rapinoe’s penalty kick, following a video review, put the defending champions ahead in the 61st minute. Midfielder Rose Lavelle’s solo goal made it 2-0 in the 69th, as she powered to the edge of the penalty area and hit a low strike.  She’s a former Wisconsin Badger.  Rapinoe’s sixth goal moved her even with teammate Alex Morgan and England’s Ellen White as the tournament’s leading scorers.  Rapinoe, who recovered from a right hamstring strain to play, got an ovation from the U.S. fans when she came off in the 79th minute.

Shanshan Feng hit a 7-iron to 3 feet for a birdie on the final hole Sunday to close with a 9-under 63 and a one-shot victory over Ariya Jutanugarn in the Thornberry Creek LPGA Classic.  Feng won for the first time since November 2017.  Jutanugarn had a three-shot lead on the back nine until a bogey on the par-5 15th and a strong finish from Feng, who had three birdies in a four-hole stretch. Jutanugarn hit her approach to 2 feet for birdie on the 18th for a 64 to catch Feng, until the 29-year-old from China delivered the winning shot.  Feng finished at 29-under 259, two shots short of the LPGA record that Sei Young Kim set last year at the Thornberry Creek at Oneida course.

Matthew Wolff made a 26-foot putt from the fringe for an eagle on the final hole to win the 3M Open at 21-under par on Sunday, beating fellow rookie Collin Morikawa and Bryson DeChambeau by one stroke in a tense finish to the first-time PGA Tour event.

In Northwoods League play Sunday, the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders  beat the Wisconsin Woodchucks 5-3, to sweep the homestand.  Tonight, the Dock Spiders play at Wisconsin Rapids.
