Grothman Bill Could Benefit Non Traditional Students

Congressman Glenn Grothman believes a bill he co-sponsored provides the framework needed for universities to more easily and effectively provide Competency Based Education to students. Grothman says students who have mastered a course would be able to test out earlier and take more classes, which would allow them to graduate earlier and spend less money on their education.  “I think it is something that the committee chairman the Democrat Bobby Scott from Virginia likes so I think it is possible we will get it in our higher education bill. I know the University of Wisconsin is cutting edge on this sort of thing.” Co-sponsors of the bill are Wisconsin Congressmen Mike Gallagher and Bryan Steil. Grothman says the University of Wisconsin is a leader in Competency Based Education.
