Feed The Dog To Perform At Ripon Summer Concert Series

28 July 2019 News

This week’s Horicon Bank Ripon Summer Concert Series features the high-energy, jam-rock-grass band Feed the Dog. The FREE concert takes place from 7:00 to 10:00 pm at the Village Green in historic downtown Ripon. Feed the Dog is an eclectic and action-packed, high-energy band that plays original material and cleverly arranged covers. The Appleton based group features masterfully crafted fiddle, Kottke like finger pickin’ acoustic six and twelve string guitar, funky bass lines, and percussive soul.

The band, which features a group of extremely talented musicians including Tim McIlree on fiddle, vocalist/guitarist Tyler Shea, bassist David Blessant, and Erik Juvonen on drums, was formed in July 2015. Since then, they have toured throughout the Midwest playing festivals, theaters and clubs alongside regional and national touring acts. In 2018, the band was nominated by the Wisconsin Area Music Industry (WAMI) in the categories of: “Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, and Bluegrass/Americana Artist of the Year. Feed the Dog’s freshman album “Sheep” and sophomore album “Tenderloin” are available for purchase at their live shows and through their website (www.feedthedogband.com).

The series is organized by Ripon Main Street, Inc. and takes place at the Village Green located at the corner of Watson and Seward Street in historic downtown Ripon. A variety of beverages are available and participants are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on. NO CARRY-INs are allowed in the park because beverage sales help cover entertainment expenses. The series, which usually takes place through the end of August, extends into the first week of September (9/6) with a special bonus concert featuring national recording artist TRAPT.

Next week’s concert features Cherry Pie, one of Wisconsin’s top 80’s hair bands.
