FDL Shooting Suspect Rejects Plea Deal Asks For New Lawyer

A 25-year-old Fond du Lac man suspected of shooting another man in Fond du Lac last Februaryhas passed on a plea deal that would have reduced charges against him. Mohamed Elmhdati rejected a plea deal and asked for a new attorney during a hearing in Fond du Lac County court Tuesday. Judge Robert Wirtz approved his request. On February February 26th Elmhdati allegedly shot a man in the leg with a handgun over a drug dispute. According to the criminal complaint he shot the man on a street in front of the man’s 5-year-old daughter. The victim was shot in the leg and was taken to a hospital for treatment. Elmhdati is being held in the County Jail on 10 different charges including attempted first degree intentional homicide.
