Excessive Heat Warning Issued

The National Weather Service has upgraded a Heat Advisory to an Excessive Heat Warning for 17 Wisconsin counties. Among those counties are Columbia, Dodge, Fond du Lac, Green Lake and Marquette counties. The warning is in effect from 10 am this morning to 7 am Saturday morning. Temperatures will reach the mid-90s and heat index values will be from 105 to 110 degrees. Meanwhile a Heat Advisory goes into effect from Noon to 7 pm tonight for a number of other counties including Waupaca, Waushara, and Winnebago counties. Heat illnesses will be possible with prolonged outdoor exposure to the heat. The elderly, children, and those on certain medications are especially at risk for heat illnesses.
