Ballweg On State Budget
State Representative Joan Ballweg says the State Assembly will get its first look at the proposed state budget with changes from the Joint Finance Committee next week. The state lawmaker from Markesan says they have no idea if Governor Tony Evers will use his veto powers on the budget, but there has been some indication the transportation package will survive. “There was some commentary in the news last week that he thought that the transportation package was one that he could live with, but we will see how all of that comes out.” Ballweg believes the budget as it is now will accomplish all of the things that state residents wanted it to.
