Alderman Aaron Becker had proposed the committee, which would be modeled after the library board and somewhat after a previous public works board. It will require repealing a previous ordinance and creating a new one. Mayor Gary Will suggested having four council members on it like the previous board instead of a five person committee with three aldermen serving on it. He told the Council, “The wheel is there, let’s just get it greased up and going again.” The original public works board had four council members, and the City Attorney and Administrator also attended the meetings.
