Ripon No Longer Accepting Waste Oil At Composting Center

18 June 2019 News

The City of Ripon is longer accepting waste oil at its composting center. Public Works Director Mike Ehrenberg told the Common Council last week after years of residual runoff there is casual seepage into the top soil at the site, which landed it in non-compliance with the DNR. He says they are having the soil tested, which might require some clean up at the city’s expense. One option Ehrenberg mentioned is to build a three sided building at the site and start over. But Ehrenberg recommended, and the Council agreed the city should no longer collect waste oil at the site. He told them O’Reilly’s will take the oil. Anyone with questions should call Ehrenberg at (920) 748-4908 or City Administrator Lori Rich at (920) 748-4914.
