Ripon Man Serving Time For Drug Trafficking

4 June 2019 News

The 20-year-old Ripon man described by one customer as the most well known heroin dealer in the city is serving a six month sentence on a drug trafficking charge. Owen Nordvold entered a no contest plea to the charge at the end of March and began serving his sentence. Two other charges were read into the record and dismissed. Charges stemmed from a drug bust at his apartment at 115 East Jackson Street last December 13th. According to the criminal complaint one of his customers told police Nordvold sells heroin to 20 to 30 people in the city. Skylar Smerling, the 21-year-old Ripon woman who was arrested during the same drug bust, is scheduled for a two-day jury trial in August. During a search of Nordvold’s apartment police found heroin, marijuana, Adderall, Narcan, a variety of pills, drug packaging and paraphernalia, and cash.
