A 36-year-old Ripon man suspected of trying to rob the BMO Harris Bank last week made his initial appearance in Fond du Lac County court Tuesday on charges stemming from the June 11th incident. Bond was not set because Troy Loehrke was allegedly uncooperative during two appearances he made in court that day. According to the District Attorney’s Office there is a question of competency and Loehrke was later transferred to the Mendota Mental Health Institution in Madison. According to the criminal complaint Loehrke was confused and distraught when he was at the bank. He had a knife on him, but did not display or threaten anyone with it. No money was taken during the incident, but he did mention to bank employees that when police came he wanted them to shoot him.
