Motorcyclist Involved In FDL County Crash Dies

A 47-year-old Fond du Lac man involved in a motorcycle versus pickup truck accident on Lakeshore Drive Sunday afternoon has died from the injuries he suffered in the crash. Richard Detert died at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah Monday. Detert was operating a motorcycle on the road in the Town of Friendship when a pickup truck began to make a left hand turn in front of him not seeing his oncoming bike. Detert’s passenger, 37-year-old Karen Detert also of Fond du Lac, was flown to ThedaCare with serious injuries. Neither of them was wearing a helmet. The pickup truck driver was not injured in the crash. It was the county’s second fatal traffic accident of the year.
