Fatal Crash On Hwy 175 In FDL County

A 53-year-old Fond du Lac man is dead, the result of a head-on crash on Highway 175 in the Town of Byron Thursday morning. Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s officials say the man was heading south when his vehicle crossed over the center line and collided head on with a northbound truck driven by a 51-year-old Theresa man. The Fond du Lac man died at the scene and the Theresa man was flown to ThedaCare Regional Medical Center with serious injuries. The Fond du Lac man was wearing his seat belt, but the Theresa man was not. Alcohol is not considered a factor in the crash. The accident north of County Highway Y was reported at 8:14 am. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Brownsville Fire Department and First Responders as well as a City of Fond du Lac Paramedic unit. The County Highway Department also assisted with traffic control.
