Berlin Standoff Suspect Bound Over For Trial

The 27-year-old Berlin man allegedly involved in a standoff incident with Berlin Police at a Kwik Trip Store has been bound over for trial. Justin Burkhardt was in Green Lake County court for a preliminary hearing Tuesday. Judge Mark Slate found probable cause that a felony was committed during the May 19th incident. Police responded early that morning after getting several calls about a man who was at the Kwik Trip was intoxicated and was waiving a gun around. Officers were involved in a brief standoff, which ended peacefully and without injury. Also during yesterday’s hearing Judge Slate granted a motion to adjust the amount of bond from $5,000 cash to $1,000.
