Ripon School District Receiving Grant For Barlow Park Elementary Charter School

The Ripon Area School District has been awarded an $800,000 five-year charter school planning grant for Barlow Park Elementary. District Superintendent Mary Whitrock says the school board will take action at their June 17th meeting to approve the grant. She congratulated and thanked everyone that was part of the grant writing process. The state’s Department of Public Instruction Thursday announced the awarding of $7 million in federal funding for 11 schools to plan, open or expand charter schools. The grants were awarded to school districts in Green Bay, Madison, Mauston, Milwaukee, Minocqua, Mondovi, Rice Lake, Ripon, and Sheboygan. The department received 21 grant applications, requesting a total of $13.9 million.
