Ripon Man Charged For Alleged Domestic Abuse Incident

A 43-year-old Ripon man is facing a disorderly conduct domestic abuse charge for an incident at an apartment building in the 500 block of North Douglas Street Monday. According to the criminal complaint the victim told police that David Floeter, who she used to live with, grabbed her by the arm while she was trying to get past him in a hall way. She was there to visit a friend. Floeter told police he learned she was there and was leaving a sandwich out in the hallway for her when he ran into her and she began talking down to him. Floeter allegedly became belligerent with the arresting officer. A blood test put his blood alcohol level at more than three times the limit for intoxication (.262). He’s facing the disorderly conduct charge as a repeater with previous convictions for misdemeanor bail jumping in Green Lake County court and disorderly conduct in Fond du Lac County court.

Campbellsport Man Facing Tenth OWI Charge

There’s a twist to a 49-year-old Campbellsport man’s 10th arrest for drunken driving. According to Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s officials Timothy Mills arrest happened last Saturday after his boat hit and destroyed a pier on Long Lake. Mills allegedly loaded his boat on a trailer and drove away without reporting the accident. According to state court records Mills last conviction for operating while intoxicated was in Waukesha County in August of 2008.

Shots Fired In Neenah Overnight

Neenah Police say no one was injured when shots were fired in the city late Tuesday night. It happened in the 400 block of Sherry Street about 10:45 pm. There was no damage, Officers found handgun shell casings at the scene. Police say it was an isolated incident and there is no danger to the public. Anyone with information is urged to call Neenah Police.

FDL E Cigarette Ordinance Clears Up Confusion

The Tobacco Prevention and Control Coordinator for the Fond du Lac County Health Department says the Fond du Lac City Council’s banning of e-cigarettes and electronic smoking devices in public and work places is a victory for public health. Sandy Bernier says the recent ordinance upgrade was only for the city of Fond du Lac and it doesn’t outlaw the devices it just controls where they can be used. It helps to create a social norm for kids to say it isn’t just water vapor. There is a reason why you shouldn’t be exposing other people to these electronic device aerosols because we are not sure what all the ingredients are in there.” She says Fond du Lac’s upgraded ordinance will clear up some confusion about smoking and the use of electronic smoking devices.

Glacial Ridge Landfill Expansion Subject Of Public Hearing

A public hearing held in Mayville Monday gave residents an opportunity to comment on the proposed expansion of the Glacial Ridge Landfill. Advanced Disposal wants to expand the landfill vertically by 100 feet. The state DNR says that the landfill can survive only six more years without expansion. The one major complaint during the hearing – the smell. Citizens say it disrupts their quality of life noting they cannot even enjoy their own backyards. Alderwoman Kim Olson says while the smell is atrocious, the real problem is the traffic as every 30 seconds a disposal vehicle disrupts what used to be a peaceful neighborhood. The DNR has 60 days to review the public comments and make a final decision on the expansion.

Senator Feyen’s Bill Signed Into Law

Governor Evers Tuesday signed a bill into law State Senator Dan Feyen of Fond du Lac authored that will help local governments save money by reducing unnecessary notifications for agricultural land assessments. Under the new law municipalities would only be required to notify land owners if their property value changed by $500 or more. Feyen calls it a “common sense” proposal. A town of Calumet resident brought this example of government waste to Feyen’s attention.
