Preliminary Numbers For Open Enrollment In Ripon Virtual School Encouraging
Ripon Area School District Superintendent Mary Whitrock is encouraged by the initial open enrollments numbers they’ve received and what it may mean for their virtual charter school. “We’re close to 170 just new applications so we were excited about that. We could have as many as 166 students in the virtual school if all the students that applied were to accept, but in some cases families can select up to three districts and in some cases we’re the second or third district.” She says parents have until June 30th to make up their minds about where they want to enroll students so they are planning conservatively and budgeting for 80 students at the Odyssey Academy of Virtual Learning. Whitrock says it’s encouraging that over 50 families who are home schooling their kids have applied for enrollment to the school.
