A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for the 27-year-old Berlin man allegedly involved in a standoff incident with Berlin Police at a Kwik Trip Store. Justin Burkhardt was charged with 2nd degree recklessly endangering safety, operating a firearm while intoxicated, and obstructing an officer for the May 19th incident. Bond was set at $5,000 cash and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for Tuesday in Green Lake County court. Police say early that Sunday morning they got a call from a man at the Kwik Trip who said he was drunk and had a gun. A short time later authorities got a second call from a clerk at the store who said a man in the store was drunk and was waiving a gun around. Police were involved in a brief standoff, which ended peacefully and without injury. Police are still looking for a witness who saw the event unfold. That person is encouraged to call the Berlin Dispatch Center at (920) 361-2121.
