Thanks to sacrifice and in-kind labor donations the scoreboard at Ripon’s Barlow Park has been replaced with a new one. Employees from Heatley Electric and Alliant Energy donated their time and resources to remove the old scoreboard and raise the new one. Some members of the Ripon Tiger Baseball Team also contributed some muscle power. Bruce Link who covers Tiger Sports for us says the major donation came from the Sergeant Andrew Wallace Donor Fund. “The scoreboard was provided by the Andrew Wallace Donor Fund. They have two different funds for that and one is the scholarship fund and one is the donor fund. This came out of the donor fund.” Sergeant Andrew Wallace lost his life when a road side bomb went off in Iraq in September of 2005. About 1,000 people attended his funeral in Ripon. The scoreboard went up just in time for Regional Playoff action.
