Escaped Prison Inmate In Oshkosh Caught

Oshkosh Police say a 55-year-old prison inmate who escaped custody while being treated at Mercy Hospital in Oshkosh was captured Thursday afternoon. Martin Fitzgerald assaulted a Department of Corrections officer and got away. A Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department K9 was used to track him. Shortly after he tried to steal a car in the 2100 Block of West 9th Avenue Oshkosh Police took him into custody.
