Drug Suspect Takes Refuge In FDL Manufacturing Plant

A chase with a drug crimes suspect culminated at a Fond du Lac manufacturing plant Tuesday afternoon. Fond du Lac County Sheriff Ryan Waldschmidt says his deputies, Lake Winnebago Area MEG Unit officers and State troopers tried to stop the suspect’s vehicle on Interstate 41 near Lost Arrow Road shortly before 5 pm. The chase was terminated when the suspect fled south on Highway 151, but a deputy spotted the vehicle on South Hickory Street near Larsen Drive in Fond du Lac and when the suspect spotted the squad car he drove into the parking lot at Muthig Industries and fled on foot into the building. A perimeter was set up around the building and employees were evacuated. The suspect was found hiding in a bathroom. He is being held in the County Jail on multiple charges.
