Body Found In Vehicle In Lake Winnebago

Oshkosh Police say a body found in a vehicle in Lake Winnebago Monday morning was that of a 23-year-old Manitowoc man. The Red VW was found about 150 yards from the Bowen Street Fishing Dock. Police got a call about 6 am about damage done to the railing at the end of the fishing dock. It appeared the damage was done by a vehicle. Dive teams from Oshkosh Fire Department and the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office searched the area. Using sonar the Sheriff’s dive team found the vehicle and the body inside of it. Manitowoc Police had been looking for the man in concern for his welfare. Anyone who might have had contact with him Sunday or Monday should call Oshkosh Police Detective Krueger at (920) 236-5733.
