Bike Rodeo In Ripon Sunday

30 May 2019 News

Trinity Evangelical Free Church and the Ripon Police Department are teaming up this Sunday for the 4th Annual Ripon Bike Rodeo. It will be at Barlow Park from 12:30 to 3:30 pm. Police Captain Troy Damsteegt says they will be teaching rules of the road for bicycling and have obstacles set up parents may not have thought of. “We set up some different obstacle courses for the children that maybe a parent wouldn’t have thought teaching their children to watch out for drain grates and gravel or sticks in the road they are just focusing on staying upright on two wheels where we expand a little bit.” Church members will also do bike tune ups, kids with their own bicycle helmets will receive Culver’s or McDonald’s gift certificates and those without helmets can get one thanks to a donation by the Webster Foundation. There will also be free hot dogs, chips and homemade desserts. No preregistration is required.
