Missing Teen May Be In FDL
West Bend Police believe a missing teen may be in the Fond du Lac or Madison areas. Seventeen-year-old Annabelle Plaskey was last seen by her legal guardian on February 18th. West Bend Police are working with police agencies in Fond du Lac and Madison and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. A couple pictures of her have been released to assist in finding her. Anyone with information is asked to contact police in West Bend at 262-335-5000.
Milwaukee Company Buys Land In NFDL Business Park
A Milwaukee-based company has purchased nearly five acres in North Fond du Lac’s Northgate Business Park. Johnstone Supply will build a 25,000 square foot facility that should be completed by the summer of 2020. Johnstone Supply Chief Operating Officer Paul Chawla says, “We are really excited to be expanding our footprint in the greater Fond du Lac area.” He says the business park is perfectly situated for their needs and they see a lot of potential for growth. Johnstone Supply is a heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration supply company that supplies parts and equipment to the residential, light commercial and industrial markets. Johnstone recently entered the local market by leasing 20,000 square feet in the Fond du Lac area to serve as a temporary location until construction is complete.
Active Shooter Training For Senior Center Directors
It may seem improbable, but Ripon Senior Center Director Noreen Johnson says they received some active shooter training last Friday during a meeting of the Wisconsin Association of Senior Centers. She says they got tips on how to handle other emergencies as well. “So they told us that if somebody is coming in shooting and you can start throwing stuff at them then they have to dodge and they won’t be able to shoot at you.” She says a couple Senior Center directors said they had some situations where they turned out to be nothing, but they still had to use precautions. Johnson says we lock down our schools during active shooter situations, but we don’t lock down our senior centers.
Chase Suspect Takes Refuge In Country Club
A suspect in a car chase with Watertown Police took refuge at at country club while police were looking for him. But it’s not as comfortable as it may sound. Dodge County Sheriff’s deputies found the 41-year-old Watertown man sleeping in a cooler at the Windwood Country Club near Watertown, which is closed. That was a week after the man’s car was found crashed on a cul-de-sac near the golf course. He’d been hiding out in the clubhouse since the crash. His accommodations have changed, he’s now being held in the County Jail on a probation hold.
Sonic Booms Attributed To Air Exercises
Sonic booms heard in the area late Tuesday morning can be attributed to an air exercise conducted over Dane, Columbia, Marquette and Green Lake counties. NORAD F-16 fighter jets and a couple of other aircraft were flying as low as 8,000 feet during the exercise. NORAD routinely runs such exercises.
