Tour de Ripon Has More Sponsors This Summer

An organizer for the Tour de Ripon bicycling event says they’ve picked up more sponsors this year and hope to have greater participation. It’s not a race, but a summer long event which allows participants to bicycle the area and stop at the participating 21 sponsors who will have prizes such as free food and other items for them. Organizer P.J. Christopherson says its another event among the many cool events that downtown Ripon and the area are offering. “We try and keep it as family-friendly as possible. So there are quite a few places in downtown Ripon that people could access if they just want to bring their kids or there are further places away.” The $10 registration fee gets you a t-shirt, which you need to pick up the prizes and lists the participating sponsors. He says they are also asking people to donate a canned good when they sign up, which will go to the Ripon Food Pantry. Sign up begins on May 13th, but runs through August. You can sign up at Advanced Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine at 402 Eureka Street in Ripon.
