Oshkosh Drive By Shooting Update

Oshkosh Police have released more information about the drive-by shooting that occurred in the 600 block of East Parkway Avenue Sunday night. Multiple bullets hit the home and a number of children were inside it at the time. Fortunately no one was hurt. Police believe a specific person was targeted and say the public is not in danger. Investigators are asking that anyone with information or who has a surveillance camera in the area contact the Oshkosh Police Department at 920-236-5700 or they can report anonymously by calling the Winnebago County Crime Stoppers at 920-231-8477.

Columbia County DA Resigns

It turns out the Columbia County District Attorney’s Office was closed Tuesday because DA Tristan Eagon had tendered her resignation. The office also had some staffing issues. In a letter Eagon cited disagreements with local officials. One of the issues had to do with refusing to release details about a complaint a staff member had made against her. Eagon says officials at all levels of county government attempted to strong-arm her opinion and gain favor.

Sexual Assault Suspect Arrested In Oshkosh

A 37-year-old Plymouth man was arrested Tuesday in Oshkosh on three counts of fourth degree sexual assault. Police say they got a complaint about an assault that occurred on March 16th in the 2000 block of West 9th Avenue. Detectives learned there were three separate assaults tied to the suspect. Works Starts Monday On Dodge County Intersection Improvement Project

Work starts next Monday on the highway safety project to reconstruct the State Highway 33/County Highway P intersection in Dodge County. The intersection will be closed and detoured during construction. The posted state highway detour route will use State Highway 67, State Highway 28, and US 41. Motorists are urged to plan ahead for alternate routes. The project is scheduled for completion by July 3rd. The project will replace the existing intersection with a roundabout to reduce the frequency of severe crashes at the location. The $1.5 million project is being funded through the Highway Safety Improvement Program.

Third Man Arrested In Oshkosh Human Trafficking Investigation

A third man has been arrested on a human trafficking-related charge in Oshkosh. Police says the 64-year-old Oshkosh man is being charged with soliciting of a child for prostitution. Two other men were arrested last week on charges arising from the same investigation involving a 17-year-old Oshkosh boy who had runaway from home. Those two were a 25-year-old Oshkosh man and a 36-year-old Oshkosh man.

Unity In The Community Saturday In Oshkosh

A student group at Oshkosh West High School is celebrating diversity through an event called “Unity in the Community” this Saturday. The Academy for Global Studies is marketing the event at the Oshkosh Convention Center from 11 am to 3 pm that day. Olivia Everett is a junior at West and a member of the group. She says there will be music, dance, crafts and free food. “You’re going to see a lot of entertainment that is brought to you by different cultures and cultural groups within the community.” Everett says you can enjoy cuisine from Russia or dance from Irish, Japanese, Hmong or Native American groups. She says the family-friendly event is about embracing and celebrating our differences.
