12 April 2019 News
Ripon High School students will be going door-to-door this weekend collecting for the annual scholarship drive. Susan Mokler is with the Ripon Education Foundation Board of Directors. She says this year they hope to raise $8,000, half of which will go for merit scholarships and the other have involves a lottery for students that participate in the collection drive. “Couple of years ago we had an interesting experience, it is the first time it has ever happened. One young lady participated in drive three years and got three separate scholarships from that lottery drawing. So there is incentive for the students to participate as well as hopefull incentive for the community to donate.” Students will be collecting for the drive Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm and Sunday from noon to 4 pm. If your not at home and would like to give you can leave your donation in an envelope and tape it to your door, mail it to Ripon Education Foundation at P.O. Box 395 in Ripon or donate to the Foundation’s website. Scholarships will be awarded on Wednesday, May 15th during a ceremony at the high school auditorium.
