2 April 2019 News
Beaver Dam Police officers and firefighters braved chilly waters and strong currents to rescue two people in a vehicle that went off the Madison Street Bridge early Tuesday morning. The vehicle ended up upside down in waist-deep water of the Beaver Dam River. Officers removed a woman in the driver’s seat. She was taken to Beaver Dam Community Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A short time later firefighters found a second person in the vehicle who was also taken to the hospital, but died. The four officers who jumped into the river during the rescue were treated at the hospital and released.
