30 April 2019 News
A 42-year-old Montello woman has been formally charged in Marquette County court in connection with a fatal house fire. Frances Rittmann is facing one count of First-Degree Intentional Homicide and two counts of Arson of a Building. Prosecutors say she admitted to investigators that she started the April 20th fire at her ex-boyfriends Montello home that afternoon. Forty-three-year-old Daniel Gilmartin died in the blaze, his body was badly burned. Medical examiners used DNA evidence to confirm the identity. Rittmann told investigators that she knew Gilmartin was sleeping and started the fire with the intention of killing both of them. She allegedly changed her mind and left the residence without getting help. An initial appearance on Monday was delayed until this morning at which time bond will be set.
