Hidden In Plain Sight Presentation Tonight In Rosendale
22 April 2019 News
Area residents are invited to join Drug Free Communities of Fond du Lac County tonight for a free event, Hidden in Plain Sight: What Every Adult Should Know. The event will be held at Laconia High School auditorium, in Rosendale. It will begin with a Resource Fair at 5:30 pm, followed by the Presentation from 6:00-7:15 pm. It will feature a life size exhibit of a teen’s bedroom mapped out to show where drugs can be hidden. Drug Free Communities Coordinator Ellen Sorensen says it’s pertinent to the Rosendale area and is similar to something they already did in Ripon. “We have tailored that based on what local drug usage is so we will have a school resource officer come and talk about it. SSM Agnesian provides a behavioral health specialist who talks about brain development and what alcohol and drug use will do to an adolescent’s brain.” A parent with a child in recovery will also come in to talk about their experiences. The presentation is for those 21-years-old and older. Registration for the event can be done online. Refreshments will be available.
