Measles Closer To Wisconsin

Measles are closer to Wisconsin than you might think. As of Tuesday nearly 650 cases have been reported in 22 states. Fond du Lac County Public Health Officer Kim Mueller says some of those 22 states are our neighbors. “It’s a car ride away, it’s not a plane ride away anymore. And when you look at all the other 22 states I was kind of looking at it in perspective to Wisconsin and you have Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan.” Measles can survive in the air up to two hours after the person that has it has left a room, which Mueller says that’s much too long and puts even more people at risk. She urges those who haven’t been vaccinated to check with their primary care physician to do it.
