28 April 2019 News

A moody closeup of an icy branch in a winter setting struck a chord with judges, awarding eighth-grader Tristan Krueger of Oakfield the grand prize – a $250 gift card – in the Fond du Lac Public Library’s fifth annual Teen Photo Contest.

Judges also awarded one winner in each of the three contest categories: Anything Goes, Celebrate Animals and Fabulous Foods. The winners:

Grand prize: Tristan Krueger, grade 8, Oakfield

Anything Goes: Hailey Brenner, grade 11, Mount Calvary

Fabulous Foods: Joseph Krahn, grade 10, Eden

Celebrate Animals: Alivia Giebel, grade 11, Eldorado

Category winners will receive their photographs professionally printed and framed, courtesy Gallery & Frame Shop.

All entries will be on display in the library’s Langdon Divers Gallery May 1 to June 4. An awards ceremony and public reception, with refreshments, is set for 6-7 p.m. Thursday, May 9.

Contest judges were Julie Balson, owner of Gallery & Frame Shop; Brian Kolstad, professional photographer and senior application developer at wisnet.com; and Lauren Herlache from Flyaway Signs.
