Campbellsport Man Charged For Allegedly Trying To Kill Girlfriend

4 April 2019 News

Bond has been set at $500,000 for a 33-year-old Campbellsport man that allegedly tried to stab his girlfriend to death as they were on their way home from a restaurant and several bars early last Saturday morning. According to the criminal complaint James Allen stabbed the victim Michele Fleischman, the mother of his son, in the neck three times. She was driving down the road at 55 miles an hour during part of the attack, but managed to get him out of the car and drive home. She told investigators that the look in Allen’s eyes convinced her he was looking forward to killing her. She felt he had been planning the attack and told investigators Allen doesn’t normally drink that much and doesn’t carry a pocket knife. Allen told investigators that they were playing slots and Fleischman was losing money and becoming upset and made a comment that maybe she should be with a millionaire. He said that upset him. But Fleischman said someone had casually greeted her at one of the bars and Allen wanted to know why she was talking with him. During the attack she also suffered defensive wounds to her hands. She was initially taken to St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac and later flown to ThedaCare Regional Medical Center. Allen will be back in court for a preliminary hearing on May 2nd.
