The Waupun Fire Department responded to a fire at Federal Mogul, 401 Industrial Drive early Saturday morning. Crews were dispatched for a report of fire in the building. Fire Chief B. J. DeMaa says when firefighters arrived they were directed to a machine that was burning. Crews quickly put the fire out however there was significant damage done to the machine. Crews were on scene for ~2 hours working on ventilation, overhaul operations, and checking for fire extension. There were eight employees in the building at the time of the fire and no one was injured. No firefighters were hurt during operations. Employees were able to return to work after smoke was vented from the building. Waupun Police and Lifestar Ambulance assisted at the scene. DeMaa says the cause of the fire and damage estimates are still being determined. The time of the fire call was 1:48 am.
