The DNR released figures Wednesday from the recently completed Lake Winnebago System sturgeon spearing season breaking down spearing by county. The majority of the 786 fish more than 70 percent came from counties in the immediate area of Lake Winnebago and the Upriver Lakes. Broken down by county; spearers from Winnebago County took the most with 201, 129 were taken by spearers from Fond du Lac County, 122 from those in Calumet, and 101 from Outagamie County spearers. Other totals; spearers from Green Lake County took 27, totals from Dodge 8, Waupaca 42 and 10 from Waushara County spearers. The DNR also released figures breaking down where those fish were registered and a list of all successful spearers.
