Heidel House Resort and Spa Closing

5 March 2019 News

For about 75 years the Heidel House Resort and Spa in Green Lake has been a destination for travelers, but that will end with its closing on May 20th. Stacy Nemeth, Chief Operating Officer of Fiore Companies owners of the resort, said in a press release, “The Fiore Companies have owned the Heidel House Resort for 35 years. We have been very committed to this property, its employees and to the Green Lake area, which is why we are saddened to make this announcement. Unfortunately, during the last decade, we have sustained financial losses, and operation of the resort in its current configuration is no longer a sustainable business model.” Part of the financial losses is attributed to the draw of other nearby tourist destinations like the Wisconsin Dells. Fiore is trying to sell the resort with plans to continue to seek a buyer. Nemeth indicated that if no buyer for the resort steps forward, Fiore Companies will pursue other development options, and will continue to work with the City of Green Lake as they explore opportunities. Nemeth concluded, “Whatever decision we make in regard to the future, we’re confident it will have a positive, long-term economic benefit to Green Lake.”
