A 32-year-old Berlin man was killed when his pickup truck crashed into a building and a retaining wall in the city of Berlin early Thursday morning. It happened in the 100 block of West Ceresco Street. Police officers and a passing motorist were able to free him from the truck and began rendering first aid and CPR, but to no avail. The Green Lake County Coroner pronounced the man dead at the scene. Berlin Police Chief Dennis Plantz says high speed and alcohol appear to be potential causes for the crash. Green Lake County Sheriff’s deputies and the State Patrol assisted at the scene. The accident was reported at 12:15 am.
