Fire Destroys Barn In The Town Of Byron

Fire destroyed a barn in Fond du Lac County’s Town of Byron Friday afternoon. Sheriff’s officials say no one was injured in the blaze at N3340 Highway 175, but six head of cattle were lost and a Polaris UTV was destroyed. The 24 by 32-foot barn was owned by Herman Steger. The fire is not considered suspicious, the cause is still being determined. The calf barn was totally engulfed in flames when deputies arrived. The time of the fire call was 1:24 pm.
