FDL County DA Comments On Decriminalizing Marijuana

21 February 2019 News

Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric Toney feels decriminalizing marijuana in the state will have unintended consequences. He says legalizing medical marijuana is something he wouldn’t mind if they could find a pill form. But allowing people to have up to 25 grams of it on them for recreational use would cause some problems. “My personal opinion is I’m not in favor of wholesale legalization of marijuana we see too many problems too much criminal activity involving marijuana. Medical marijuana is a different issue and there is a lot of merit into looking into that more.” He points out one issue with legalizing small amounts of marijuana includes how it would affect the way K9 units operate.
