Ripon Popping With Pride In Around The Corner With John McGivern Episode

Area residents packed into Vines and Rushes Winery last night for a sneak peak at the Around the Corner with John McGivern episode featuring Ripon. It will air at 7 pm tonight on Wisconsin Public Television. McGivern was impressed with Watson Street, Ripon’s version of Main Street. “Cause we do these smaller towns where, where it is usually the highway through town too so it takes a long time to shoot because it’s like, we’re going to have to do that again because of the sound. But it’s great, it’s Watson Street we loved it.” But he found a lot to like during their five day stay in Ripon last spring. “The farm that we went to, have you been to the farm on Main Street in Ripon? That was the first in eight years that we’ve ever experienced. We went to a furrier that builds fur bears which we’ve never done before, again on Main Street in Ripon. And Tuba Dan and his family.” McGivern and his crew filmed at quite a few locations in Ripon including the vertical farm in the basement of Bluemke’s, Ripon College, Alliance Laundry Systems, Suki’s Fur Sure, the Little White School House, Road House Pizza, Vines and Rushes Winery, a historic home on Watson Streets and more. If you can’t watch tonight’s Around the Corner it will be available at noon on the Wisconsin Public Television or Milwaukee PBS website.
